• Natural Fiber Oil Absorbent Boom is an alternative to traditional polypropylene filled boom. Pacific Environmental sent over 400 miles of this boom for oil remidiation in the Gulf following the recent spill.

• Natural Fiber Boom will only absorb oil and other hydrocarbon-based substances. It WILL NOT absorb ANY water.
• The most rugged boom in the industry! Our booms have solid metal rings and carabiners, strong yellow rope along the length of the boom, and highly durable poly netting surrounding the entire boom.
• Oil only absorbent booms absorb hydrophobic materials such as oil, gasoline, diesel, hydraulic fluid and the like. Will not absorb water.
  
• Booms float and are perfect for linking together and surrounding a spill on the water.
• Oil booms will float on the surface of water to absorb any of the above materials that float and form slicks. You will find these oil only booms in many of our spill kits.

Pacific Environmental's Oil Absorbent Booms are manufactured to meet or exceed performance standards set within the industry. Nickel plated steel rings on the end of the boom facilitate connection with the tear-drop shaped bit-snaps for a quick and stable interlock. No paper-clip type closures are used. The "Bit-Snaps" are located equal distance from each end allowing the correct overlap of each boom to assure a proper barrier. All hardware is fastened with clips to a 1/4" monofilament polypropylene rope to provide maximum tensile strength and help eliminate "BOOM ROLL". This prevents damage to the boom and netting. Only polyester netting is used which gives greater UV resistance and elasticity than HDPE or polypropylene netting. Our booms are filled with just the right amount of material to allow maximum absorption in the quickest time possible. They have no voids. Booms float high in the water when first applied then as they reach maxium absorption, they slowly descends allowing new and fresh contact with the hydrocarbon material being removed from the water. Booms do not fully sink. When saturated, they have no unused core. When maximum absorption is obtained, absorbent booms remains right at the surface for easy retrieval.
